A Brief
Introduction to
the Memorial Archway for Recluse
It was first built in 1613 A.D during Emperor Wan Li’s
reign in Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in 1981. Engraved on
the archway is an inscription explaining that this is
the haunt of the famous recluse—Dai Yong in the Song Dynasty
during the southern and Northern Period (420A.D.—581A.D.).
There are also two in couplets one which expresses regret
at the departure of the hermit and the other which recalls
his life and his art which are merged with nature. |
