Hu
Pao Spring
It was said that when the Eastern
Jin Dynasty Buddhist Master Fa An came here, drinking water
was very difficult to find. A host of tigers dug this spring
for him. Therefore, it was named Hu Pao (tiger running)
spring. A pavilion was built here in the Ming Dynasty, and
was named “the pool of remaining fresh forever”. It was
dredged in 1981. The three words of “Hu Pao Sping” was written
in the Ming Dynasty. The pavilion upon the spring was named
“the pavilion of remaining fresh forever”. There is a pool
down the spring, to which the spring flows from the mouth
of stone dragon head, so it’s also named “water gushed from
dragon”. |
