The Room for Hearing Birds’ Singing
This room was built to memorialize
Dai Yong, a famous artist of the Southern
Dynasty. The date when it was built is not quite clear. There
was only an arch there in period of the
Republic of China. The room was destroyed
in the Great Cultural Revolution. It was reconstructed on
the present site in the autumn of 1981.
It was said Dai Yong lived in seclusion
on Jiao Shan Hill and often heard beautiful birds’ singing.
Therefore it was named “the room for hearing
birds’ singing”.
